Our Air Waves are Jammed by Quacksters

I know that this conversation is going to illicit controversial reactions from followers but the truth be told, having listened to broadcasts from reputed fm stations e.g BBC, DW radio and in Africa Radio Ghana, I am convinced that our fm stations in kenya Broadcast crap and should be put on the spot light, a broadcast program should be Informative, Educative and Entertaining alright, but the scenario in kenya is rather more of Negative entertainment to say the least.

I believe that a responsible news caster, presenter, announcer even a weather man should have basic training in Journalism, to have a grasp of the Ethos and Pathos of the art of communicating, to observe the nuts and bolts of communication, because a presenter communicates to close to three quarters of the Kenyan Populous as 80%v of kenyans get information through radio broadcast as it is the most affordable media,

there are a multitude of educative topics to be discussed, that can both educate and entertain listeners, in kenya all stations broadcast sex as a core program, to blame partly are the listeners themselves, in Ghana for instance the populous petitioned govt. to urge stations to broadcast constructive material, to date ghanaian FM stations broadcast one of the most constructive programs in Africa, intact no FM station in kenya can survive in Ghana for a day.

I believe that responsible Broadcasting begins with TRAINING, no wonder there are JOURNALISM PROGRAMS being offered it was not by error that Journalism was introduced. Most of our presenters in kenya are quacksters, some were actually tuck drivers, losers of dance and song competitions, sympathizers of the entertainment industry and rich kids whose parents have close affiliations with media owners, some of these presenters are even so dumb that the populous they address are by far informed in some of the topics they are discussing than them, most of them are now self proclaimed relationship experts, sex guides and councillors what happened o Authoritative voices in relationships, the likes of Chris hart. Dr. frank Njenga and the rest,

I believe its time that as I society we described what content we want our children and succeeding generations to emulate from presenterss and we are willing to agitate for reforms in the broadcast arena, yes the station is a private entity but the Airwaves belong to the society at large, we want Broadcast content that is Educative Informative and positively entreating please submit your comments to this blog and We'll surely post it.
